The West Point Association of Graduates is concerned about your privacy, and steps are taken to protect the privacy of personal information collected on our graduates and friends.
We collect information about you in several broad categories:
Contact Information – name, addresses, phone numbers, e-mail addresses, etc. for both home and business. Current and past military assignments as well as civilian sector employment are published in our Register of Graduates. Other information we receive, such as biographies, news articles, photographs, vital statistics sheets you submit, etc., are archived in our Cullum files as part of our mission to be a repository for historical information about graduates of the U.S. Military Academy.
Financial Data – purchases of products and services as well as donations you make to the West Point Association of Graduates for the benefit of the Academy and/or the Association are recorded along with pertinent information required for the transaction.
We protect information about you:
We keep information under physical, electronic, and procedural controls that comply with or exceed government standards. Our network is secured and protected. We authorize our employees and contractors access to information about you only to the extent that information is needed to perform assigned tasks. We require companies working with us to protect your information and use it for the sole purpose of providing the services we ask them to perform.
We share information about you with organizations to support the Academy:
We allow your classmates to view your contact information. We share your contact information with your local society leadership. We share information with outside companies only to the extent necessary for them to assist us in performing our mission. These organizations are generally limited: mailing services, travel services, fund raising support, retail merchandising, and companies selected to provide you with value added programs and services.
You have choices available to further protect your information:
You may ask us to make your mailing address “CONFIDENTIAL” to restrict your address to WPAOG employees and preclude your contact information from being included in routine business, including class and society rosters.You may ask us to make your E-mail address “PRIVATE” to preclude it from being included in rosters made available to classes and societies as well as other mass electronic mailings. You may ask us to restrict your address for a specific purpose, i.e., to suppress travel program mailings, solicitations for giving or services, or class or society mailings.
